I've searched the boards for an answer and haven't found one, so my question is....is there a solution yet for the IE 7 and the WYSIWYG tool integration issue? I've got three computers at work and can only use one to make changes to the website. I'd like to upgrade that one, but can't afford to lose the WYSIWYG capabilities. I've seen some people say that theirs works fine, others have suggested a fix...Anyone know the final answer? Thanks so much!

Hello reneewood,

Currently the WYSIWYG editor will not work with IE7 on Windows XP due to the way the Window XP version displays what browser they are to the WYSIWYG editor. Note that the WYSIWYG editor does work with IE7 on Windows Vista as they have changed how the browser is displayed to other applications.

Due to this Microsoft has posted a workaround at - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en

Simply install this application, and then run it each time before you login to the admin panel when you need to use the WYSIWYG editor.

Also note you can use many other WYSIWYG editors out there not just ours. If you search google or download.com for WYSIWYG you will find a few good free ones.

If you have any questions about using this tool feel free to contact us at support.

WYSIWYG works with IE7 with Vista for sure. The calendar does not work when trying to change dates on the admin reports though.

Since the WYSIWYG from monstersmile.gif does not work, then in my humble opinion, monstersmile.gif needs to reduce our monthly charges and credit us for not having a properly working system.

We are paying a premium being with monstersmile.gif and (again in my humble opinion) yet are receiving a product that is not 100% functional. Either fix the WYSIWIG or reduce the rates and remove the feature from the software.

In comparison to the competition, they do not have issues being with IE7.

Noooo. Don't want it removed. We're still on IE6/XP and intend to stay there for some time to come. And I use the WYSIWYG editor nearly everyday. It's not perfect ..... which is an understatement. But I certainly do not want it removed. Fixed, yes.

I have had the same problem on my computers that are running ie7 and XP. I loaded vista on my home pc and the WYSIWIG editor works well although a little slow. One issue that has not resolved itself is being able to use the calender(sp) function in the admin panel reports which is to bad. I wonder if there is a setting in ie7 that needs to be changed, I've played with the settings a little but nothing changed. I hope that as the technology of our OS's and browsers move forward that our carts keep up. beer.gif

Simple solution - don't use the WSIWYG tool. It causes more problems than it helps to fix code... Using other software like Dreamweaver to manufacture your web pages and just copying your code over is much more efficient and effective.

I also have problems with the WYSINWYG, and I would really like it fixed. If we moved from our previous shopping cart it was because we liked it and because it had the right things at the time. I also agree that it would be easy not to mess with it, but some of us need it. the FTP tool is not an FTP, just an uploader gui.

Wish I could get my hands on that code myself.

I think that many of us have been plenty of patience already.

I see there are lots of Wysiwyg which do work with ie7 and Firefox and even Safiri.
Is it time to fix this problem?

I am not a programer but I do know it spits out some very strange code at the best of times.
Last year I emailed a link to a Wysiwyg priced in the low $$$$ at the time which would have been a nice upgrade.
Which would cover all MC users

I was told thank for the email we will look in to it ....

All the best

Alex

PS I use the Wysiwg everyday and have to have one CPU running the old browser just to do this.........

It works for me.. not sure if there was a change or not, but I am good to go. IE7 & Vista

Hi PowderDay,

This is only an issue with IE7 and windows XP. The cause is Microsoft reports the browser differently in XP than it does in Vista and they have decided not to fix the issue with IE7 on windows. They simply have created a work around which can be downloaded at - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en

While I didn't like it at the time, I moved to using NVU. Pretty simple, copy and paste the code up to MC, and you're done. Save yourself some headaches.
