Full Version: How Do I Download All My Product Images So I Can Watermark Them?
MonsterSmallBusiness Forums > MonsterCommerce > How do I?
michaelf9
While downloading them one at a time does sound appealing, I would like to download them all at once, watermark them then re-up them. Can I do this? Or do I need to hire some cheap overseas labor to download them one by one. That should take about a week or so.happy.gif

Thanks,
Michael

Currently, there is now way to download all the images in one go. Options are either to download them one by one, or pay MC to download them onto a cd for you... go figure.

Equally, there is no way to do a bulk upoad bash.gif

Actually, None of this is correct... Please contact Tech Support and we can take care of this for you. The file manager does have a multiple upload feature.

Thanks

Depends how you look at it.

If I want to 'bulk upload' into a single folder etc, fine. If I want to upload 300 images in multiple folders in one go, then you can't. All goes back to having regular FTP access.

Brian we recently needed this done and called tech support - they said there was no way to do this.....does this tick me off reading this right now..yes..
It would be nice if all you folks in tech support knew this!

Actually, This is not 100 percent correct . . . The file manager has a multiple upload feature if you use MS Windows to upload images.

Would be nice if there was multiple upload support for a mac..... just saying!

I called tech support the other day for the exact same thing, and the guy very kindly created a couple zip folders for me (within a couple hours).. and uploaded them to my file manager for me to download.

The inconsistency of expertise between monstersmile.gif tech support really is astonishing.

I'd like to know if this is true: you are offering free CD's of the images on your site. I called last week and was told I had to pay 200 ? or dang near close to it for a CD.

ALSO. you cannot bulk upload with standard mac os... its a known "fault" with the software

Yes, exporting your site via CD is a billable service we offer. We offer a wide variety of billable tech services for the convenience of our customers. In many cases, simplier services are waived. This is done on a case by case basis, however, a simple file export should be ok.

The multiple upload feature is a windows only feature because it is ActiveX based. If Macs worked with ActiveX, they would be able to use the multiple upload with no issue. We understand this limitation is frustrating for Mac users, and we do have it logged as a feature request for enhancement. However, it is not a "fault" with the existing feature.

With regard to the comment made amount the disparity in knowledge of the techs, as it has been noted heavily since January of 2006, we continue to add team members all over the company and Support is no exception. It takes a period of time to get our new hires trained and up to 100%. Truthfully, the best experience for our new team members is to be on the phones and tackle issues as they are presented. We have a very qualified group of folks, some simply have more tenure and experience. The newbies have lots of resources to review as well. However, since this particular topic seems to have generated some buzz, we'll make sure to review it globally so that they are all on the same page.

Thanks for bringing it up!
