Greetings,

I came here today seeking answers on as to why our current version of Urchin Web Analytics v5.7.03 - does not show Requested Pages / pageviews for Custom Pages as seperate entries. It appears to me that is is including all custom pages in the /index.asp entry. This is perhaps what one calls a "feature by design"

Reading posts here there is talk of sites now using Urchin 6. Is version six included for everyone? How do we upgrade?

Can I somehow enable the viewing of seperate CustomID Pages with our current version?

We also have a Google Analytics account, who doesn't. While it does not show near the data the Urchin reports show, we can see views / loads of individual CustomID pages.

Looking further at Urchin reports, under Requested Pages, WHY are the AVI files we host listed here and not under the Downloads ?

Do we, as MC users have access to modify the "Urchin's configuration controls"?

Thanks for suggestions,

Paperandfilm,

Here is somewhat of the low down for Urchin 5 vs. Google Analytics.

Urchin 5 reports every hit on the server (customers, clients, robots, etc...)
but does not read the URL's well, so every page shows as index.asp; when the program hits the ? it stops
(Example http://www.domain.com/index.asp?pageaction=company)
There is no option to configure Urchin 5 more that what we currently have.

Urchin 6 was the updated stats program that Urchin put out; and would require a JavaScript to be referenced on each page and would show true traffic reports by customers (because when a customer would hit each page, the JavaScript would send data to the Urchin 6 servers)

Urchin was purchased by Google, and they turned Urchin 6 into Google Analytics; and everyone that had purchased Urchin 6 was migrated into a Google Analytics account.

Hope this info helps.

Thanks

Hello again,

Thanks for the information about Urchin 6. I understand better the differences between the two type of reporting. This would mean then that users must have Java installed and enabled to report properly to 6/G Analytics. Our Google Analytics stats have been wildly inaccurate the past few weeks and was looking for a more stable reporting system. While Urchin 5 provides most the data we want to see, it is more difficult to format into a report that is pleasent for my colleagues to view.

Thanks again,

-Jason
