How do I create an HTML page that contains a color chart? Example: My customers select a color, but they need to see the color chart. But, where/how do I add a page containing the color chart?

I had assumed that I'd use the custom HTML page, but can't figure out what the url link would be. Currently the customer HTML page says the url is: Custom&ID=3

I hope this is clear. Thanks!

When you create the custom page go view it in your browser.
The page URL will load in the address line of your browser. You can then
copy it by using your right mouse button and the Copy command.

Now go to page you want the URL linked from, select the text you want
to make a link. In the WYSISYG editor select
make a link button at the top right of the screen. When the link window pops
open simply paste the URL in the space provided and save. Clicking on
this text should now take you to the custom page.

I hope this is clear rolleyes.gif

Yes, you're clear. However, this is a bit different. My site is not active yet. Therefore, the Custom&ID=3 is displayed as the url instead of an html page.

My question was how to identify the html page when the site is not active and has a "temporary" url. I hope that this explains it more clearly.

I would reccommend the color chart be a small pop up window.

kay
Krazykicks,

The popup is a great idea. I was displaying the chart in a new window, but was concerned that the new customers would be confused, not seeing a back arrow.

But, it seems odd that the url is not document.html (i.e., color-chart-a.html). Perhaps MC software displays it that way because my site is not open. I think I'll use the name I gave the page and ignore the MC url. Now that I think of it, it's what I'd do for test stores. (I am going live eventually as soon as I can come up with workarounds.) Thanks so much for your help!

Hey kay,

You can display it in another window, but so the new window does not take up the whole screen you can specify the window size. If you need help with this, let me know. You can PM me your web address and I can help you out.

Thanks
kay
Thanks, LaTesha. That's one of the few things I know how to do. biggrin.gif

Can I take you up on that offer for the variant problem I'm having (per my other thread)?
krazykickz
Yes Kay, can you point me to the thread again...make sure I have the right one.

Thanks
kay
You found it...quick kid that you are. BTW, love your site!!!
krazykickz
Thanks.

When will you post yours for review..lol biggrin.gif

Well...It's going to be a while. I have 596 products to post. MC dataported them for me but, bless their hearts, they didn't realize how complicated my stuff is. The variants were totally messed up and 596 images were labeled with names such as as housemarker_1761_8740057.gif. So, I would have had to spent just as much time cleaning it up as I would starting new. And, I'll really learn the system which is good.

If you want to look at my current sites, they are:

http://www.housemarker.com
I'm moving Housemarker to MC and redoing the design (it needs it!). But, if you look at the address plaques, you'll see the color charts and the various variants that need to be entered carefully. So, I appreciate your help. I'd prefer to do it right the first time or I'll be redoing hundreds of these things. wacko.gif

So..in about a month... stuart.gif
Captain
Kay,

Who have you been working with? Your product line appears complex... nothing we can't handle, I just want to make sure I have the right person helping you to make your transition smooth.

kay
Stephanie Leffler & I talked about setting up a trial store and she coordinated it. I don't know who did the dataport. She knows that it got all messed up but don't know if she looked at the site.

A couple of weeks ago, a tech support person (Chris?) deleted some of the weird stuff, but there was too much for him to do and for me to explain.

On 11/12, Megan Buckley removed all of the products at my request so that I could start with a clean slate. She is removing the image names as time permits. (I would think that there would be a directory on the server with the image files that would allow her to delete all of the images at one time, rather than one at a time.)

Sorry for the long reply. Just didn't know what name to give you.

Captain
That's what I needed Kay. I will speak with Stephanie about it! Thanks. smile.gif

Hey Kay - Please help me understand exactly what you want us to do. Do you want us to go in and just delete all of your images? I am happy to do that for you if you wish. Just let me know!

Hi, Steph. Please delete all images that start with "housemarker_". These images are located "product images" root folder and are the ones that were dataported from Yahoo.

Please DON'T delete the images in the MONTAGUE IMAGES folder and the WHITEHALL IMAGES folder. (But they don't start with "housemarker_" anyway.)

If you need to call me, please feel free to do so. Thanks. I'm sorry to be such a bother.
Captain
Kay,

I sent your post to Steph.
MonsterCEO
Hey Kay -
I will get this done over the weeken for you!
Thanks

Hey, Steph. Thanks! No rush, though. I'm not using them.
