Full Version: Quickorder Question
MonsterSmallBusiness Forums > MonsterCommerce > How do I?
Trooper
Krazy or mbsupport,

I have items that I would like to put in a QuickOrder page but I don't want customers to be able to go all over my site. Just select from that category only or related in the drop down. Is this possible without custom programming?
Captain
Trooper...

I am not exactly sure what you are asking. Can you explain further?

Perhaps MB or Krazy gets it. phone.gif

I believe Trooper is looking for a way to have a Quickorder type page that only shows items in a specific catagory.

Trooper- My recommendation would be to create a custom page that looks the way you want it to. If you know HTML pretty well just open the "Quickorder" page to the catagory that you want, view the source and select/copy the products HTML. You can then paste it into a HTML editor to tweak it and then paste your final HTML into a Custom page. Then just link people to the custom page. This is the only option I can think of for doing this without Custom Programming by MC.

Maybe MC Dev's are planning on adding a option to do this, but as far as I know it's not on the books. I'm sure someone from monstersmile.gif will reply with a followup biggrin.gif

Captain,

Ultimate beat me to it!

It's been a long day already and I was looking at the Website review of Pressuremart's Thread and mbsupport and Krazy were talking about the quickorder page for them.

My question is can I use the quickorder page but for only a specific category such as: a quickorder page for flashlight parts where the drop down box up at the top only had flashlights brands or types to choose from, not every category in the store.

Trooper,

Thanks for the additional details. However, I do still think my prior suggestion may be the best option. But lets see what Cap'n or anyone else has to say. Maybe I'm missing something wacko.gif
Trooper
Thanks Ultimate,

I am wondering if that will make my site a customized site, I want to avoid being left out of updates and patches.

Trooper,

Have a question, because I believe you can do this. If you did set up a quick order page, would you want them to go to the product page or just be able to buy the product straight from quick order?
krazykickz
Hi,

I figured out what you want...just give me a sec to explain it..
Trooper
Krazy,

I have some products or categories in which I have thousands of parts and I want them to be able to go to this page and buy straight from that page. Kind of like a go to the quick order parts section link from my categories and they only can go to certain things. I'm afraid some will get lost in the large amount of cats and subcats.
krazykickz
Hey Trooper,

I forgot I tweaked my code a little so I cannot display it properly on my page, but I forgot robert has done it perfectly.

Is this what you mean?
Click here to see example from Robert's site. Click on each category to see what I mean
Trooper
Thats pretty much what I want, but I would like to have the drop down like the quickorder page to. So they could select a cat & sub cat before going through all the list.
krazykickz
Hey Trooper,

Quickorder2 just released.

Is this what you might want?

Trooper
Yeah that looks good. I think I'll use it. By the way thanks for pointing that target blank point in my site, I changed them all.

I still would like the filter at the top to just filter a certain category(s) for my parts not all the site. I have probably a hundred cats and sub cats(mostly).

How do I access the QUICKORDER PAGE?

I have looked around in the ADMIN side and cannot figure it out.

Thnx
ebeadstore
You have to creat a link in the html like in TOP or somewhere else. See my site and click on the "PRODUCTS" on the top.

Ahhh OK thats great!

Is there a manual somewhere that tells me how to do this?? I haven't seen anything that references this topic.
Captain
Add index.asp?PageAction=QUICKORDER2 or index.asp?index.asp?PAGEACTION=QUICKORDER to your store and link it from anywhere on the page.
Sunshine
Hello blackboxrecords -

To follow up on what the Captain posted, you can append the following to your domain name to access the QuickOrder pages:

/index.asp?PageAction=QUICKORDER2
or
/index.asp?PageAction=QUICKORDER

There is additional information on the QuickOrder feature within the 'Additional Features' section of the v4.0 Manual (Word document version). You can download this manual from our Knowledge Base under "4. Printable Reference Manual & QuickGuides" at http://kb.monstercommerce.com

Thanks ... the quickorder 2 page looks promising.

But here is exactly what I am looking for ...

I want to have ALL of my products listed using the QUICKORDER format, but I want it to work hand in hand with the Categories listed in the Left Column.

BlackBox Records (Test Phase)

EXAMPLE: When a customer clicks on the NEW RELEASE category in the left column, I want all of the products that are in that particular category to be listed using the QUICKORDER layout.

When a customer clicks on the SPECIALS category in the left column, all of the products that are listed in that category will show up using the QUICKORDER layout as well.

Can this be done? *praying*
Trooper
blackboxrecords,

You'll need to do your own links on the left and go to the category page HTML and put in the Quickorder function.

If you only want it for certain ones then the best way is to go to the source of the quickorder page and copy then delete all the cats you don't want then paste it to the page.
