Just got an email from Google stating that from Nov. 8th through Dec. 31 that all orders processed via Google Checkout will not have any processing fees. Wether you are an Adwords subscriber or not. That is unlimited processing till the end of the year wether you have a Adwords account or not.

I set mine up a few days ago...figured why not save a little $$. Question though, no one has used it yet. Everyone still seems to be using my standard gateway or PayPal. Has anyone else noticed this or are your customers using the Google Checkout?

Our gateway does get more orders than google checkout, but over time, Google orders have been increasing.

You know it has been so long since Google has charged any fees that it is kinda tough to remember. But to the best of my memory, it is 2 percent plus .20 a transaction. I may be off a tiny bit, but it is lower than any other processor. Remember, that the fees are also free even when they charge, because they allow you to get a credit from your Adwords Spend from the previous month. So if you Spent $2000 in PPC the previous month, you get a credit for $200 on the fees. So you can process orders for free up until you use up that credit, then the fees for the orders beyond that are cheaper than anywhere else.

Thx for the info Rick, I will have to look into it more.

Your welcome, the numbers are pretty hard to ignore. If you have a new site, or margin is tight, I can't see how you could pass it up.

My account on google checkout is under review?

Any idea why would this be?

I am assuming that it is a new account that you set up, and they have to review your account information before they can issue you an account.

The account is about 3 weeks old. I did about 700 dollars of sales through it already. I disabled it on my store for now.

Has anyone had many customers use google checkout? Do you like the option of having the google checkout right below your own store checkout...? I would think its kind of confusing to a novice shopper online

Happened to have received our bonus check today from Google. It was just $80, but hey thats $80 less we have to spend on Adwords. We got a $400 or so check at christmas from them.

Lets see, yes, customers use the Google Checkout. I guess the $10 off for first time users is an attraction that is hard to pass up. Probably a third of our orders are Google Checkout. Google charges us $0 for processing the order, if there is a return or refund issue, we issue the refund and again pay $0. In the computer industry saving 3-4 percent expense on an order helps!

I find to get paid via google or to cancel an order via google is easier than our real gateway. Oh, and by the way, they guarantee orders, so the Fraud/Security issues are on them. There have been a couple of orders that were obvious fraud to us via our own security measures, so we just cancelled the orders on our own, even though Google would of paid the order if it was fraud.

Googe Checkout badge on the Google Adwords ads has increase CTR and conversions via Adwords. The link on Google.com to our site hasn't hurt either, I'd say on average they send 25 more visitors to our store a day.

As far as the way the button looks on our site, it matches, we haven't had one customer complain about it being confusing having two buttons.

Some here, have stated that Google Checkout wasn't all it is supposed to be, as far as we know, it has helped our business a whole lot more than hurt it!
