I have a request to ask of . Is it possible that you can increase the size of my PM mailbox.

The problem is, I am always deleting messages that I do not want to delete. Don't tell me that the archive feature is suppose to solve my space problems, because, it doesn't work worth a flip on a Mac or a PC, in I.E or Firefox, or Safari.

What I can't understand is we spend too much money to not have more space. In fact if money is the issue, just charge me for the extra space!

What is the point of having it if you can't use it, and then it is a pain to manage it. Please just increase the capacity.

I don't know that there is a way. I don't know that I'd keep stuff on the board either. When I have PMs that I want to save, I actually email them to myself (yes, pretty weird). I looked at the settings and there does not appear to be a way to increase the size limit.

I'll double check with our Forum Administrator/Designer and see what he has to say.

Thanks for the response, while it isn't the answer I was looking for I appreciate the effort.

I have emailed some of them to myself, I have saved a few of them in text, copy and paste, this is something I learned how to do on a computer in 1985 when many of you were still in diapers.

What is crazy, is after 20 years, I still have to revert to something that is way to basic and inconvenient. Come-on this is the iPod age, the HD tv age, the new millineum, copy and paste is a waste of time, when I have a dynamic shopping cart that is SEO friendly, etc . . .

If there is any way you () could make sure the archive feature worked that would be fine with me. I know didn't create the forum code, maybe the vendor you purchased it from has an update, upgrade or knows what the issues are with the archive feature. Even if the archive feature worked, I would prefer to have the PMs in the forum area anyway.

Any one who uses a PC that the archive actually works, please let me know what browser and OS you are using. Of course, having a name like MacRick, I guess I could only dream that this thing would act right on a Mac. As well any MC Merchant with a Mac that the archive feature works, please tell me how.

I would say PM me, but if you do that I will have to delete messages first!

Okay, Obviously, this is not important, I will just keep posting every 6 or so hours until I catch someones attention

This is kind of comical.

I couldn't find this post...and I wanted to post in it because its frustration that we can only have 50 messages. I to am tired of deleting messages that I think i might need. I remembered that Rick posted this thread. So I send him a PM to see if he could give me the link and this is what I got...



Sooooo I did a little research and here lies the problem. The message limit is hardcoded into the boards. But it can be changed. Since I have Invision Forums on my site I was able to find the information on there boards. It requires changing a few lines of code in the "class_email.php" file.

Thanks a ton, now we just need to find the appropriate to fix this problem. Any s out there with the Appropriate Access to the forum code?

I gave up on deleting PMs, you know if my box is full, not only can you not PM me, but also any employee, I figured that one day, one of them would care enough that maybe something would change, little did I realize that we had a genius merchant in here such as your self that could figure out the issue.

Two questions, when are you going to upgrade our PM mailbox?

Why did you move this thread to a non-private forum? I know there may not be any sensitive stuff here, but it does effect my posting behavior. If you like, I can go back to Rants and Rave and start a new thread with my real frustrating post of the PM Mailbox size and solution that offers to it.

1) I have upgraded all Verified Store Member accounts. You now have 300 total messages. It's not 20 times as many, but I assume that was hyperbole and treated it accordingly. ;)

2) I am not sure at this point who moved this topic into the non-private area. One of the mods did it and probably for a reason which seemed good to them. I'll ask. If it was a great reason, I'll share. If it wasn't, we can move it back, if it's that big of a concern.

2) I asked about the move only because, this thread was a rant, and when the thread is in a private area posts are different than in a non private area. There is no need to rant about this anymore, but I really was trying to share my rant with merchants and s and not the world.
