Would it be better for me to go back to a shared server since the Scan Alert pricing is so much better on shared?
Anyone??
I'm looking at $1700.00 as opposed to 199.00 per year for a shared server.

Still haven't figured out why if one passes they all shouldn't? As we all run the same software???

Hi All-
The best advice we can give is to make sure of 2 things.
1. Make sure that ScanAlert knows that you are a MonsterCommerce client, you can get some fairly deep discounts due to our partnership.
2. There are 2 main products that ScanAlert offers, the quarterly scans required for CISP/PCI compliance, and the HackerSafe daily scan product. Although,HackerSafe is highly recommend as a way to build customer confidence in your storefront, it is not a requirement. If you feel the benefits of this product does not meet your business needs, then it may not be for you.
Thanks
Brian

Well, we are PCI compliant certified...but Brian my original question pertained to the servers.
What is the major benefit of being on a dedicated server as opposed to a shared server...that warrants such a price difference for Scan Alert Hacker Safe compliance?
I checked out the pricing on MC's site for the "discounts"...but they don't really compare. Dedicated servers require approx. 10x the fee as shared servers.

Hi Heartland-
The best place to go would be to contact Scan Alert at 877.302.9965. The last pricing I have for them is:
Shared:
less than $5000 sales per month............$19.99/mo
$5000 to $15,000 sales per month..........$49.99/mo
over $15,000 sales per month.................$99.99/mo
Dedicated.............................................$159.00mo
Normal retail prices start at: $179/mo or $1790/yr + $100 set-up
You would need to confirm with ScanAlert these prices are still available. As far as servers go, unless you are generating over 45 gigabytes of bandwidth per month, then you would still be on a shared server.
Thanks
Brian
