This may be a tech support issue, but lets see if anyone can spot what is going on here.

I have uploaded several .html pages. Example: filename.html

When I go to the link that lead to a particular page, the link reads: filename.html?id=xx

This link is definatley not the link path that I have created. I can't figure out why the "?id=xx" is being added to the link path.

To be clear, I am not using the custom pages module. These are files uploaded using FTP.

Any ideas? wacko.gif

Disregard folks - the issue has been resolved.

For knowledge sharing: Here is what was happening.

I had a group of related pages - 5 of them

Page 1 linked to the other four
A link on one of the four pages linked back to page 1, with the ?id-xx extension.
Somehow, this link caused other pages to appear with the ?id=xx extension.

I changed the link path on the one link, uploaded all pages, and wham - it all works!

That's really odd. smile.gif

Umm, I am uploaded a bunch of static content later today, so I will see if it happens to me. I do have a static sitemap and it works fine, so is the html page linked from a product page?

I guess I am asking you to clarify. smile.gif

ebenson,

No, the link was not from within a product page.

I had five static html pages. One page that linked to the other four, lets call them sub-pages. In two of the four sub-pages, I had a link to one particular sub-page.

That link (the code itself) had the ?id=xx extension in the link. As a result, the two pages with this incorrect link path and the page that those links led to had a url with the ?id=xx extenstion (not just a .hml extension).

Just to clarify further, the url looked like this: filename.htm?id=xx; instead of filename.htm

It is corrected now. I don't understand why this happened - I'm just glad to have found the source of the problem and corrected it.

Is this information clear? biggrin.gif

Clear, but odd. Nothing close to unreasonable though. I made a page that linked to my webmail account for my host and posted it online -- I must have just had it in the clipboard. smile.gif That's my best one so far.

ebenson,

I am interested in learning a few tricks from you.
