Full Version: Question On Using Mc's Inventory Management
MonsterSmallBusiness Forums > MonsterCommerce > Using MonsterCommerce Software

Hi,

Currently, we are not using the MC inventory app, but we'd like to. My concern is that it would display our inventory on the item page. Such as Qty2, or Out of Stock, etc. Is there a way to use the built in inventory management without it displaying on the pages? I don't want to loose a sale to an "out of stock" display. Thoughts?

Thanks ........ Ken

Hey Ken.
Go to:
Control Panel==>Site Wide Settings==>Product List & Details (tab)

You should also check the "General Storefront" tab and "System Options" tab

You should find all the settings and tweaks you need.
Good luck with it.

You could use Advanced Products Display (APD) and not include the stock field.

As MartiniGuy pointed out, you can tweak a lot of the settings and still use the default product layout, including choosing not to show stock.

For example, under Site-Wide Settings > System Options you have the following settings:
Allow Purchase when Quantity in Stock is Less Than Zero -- Yes/No
Hide Products If Not In Stock -- Yes/No

In the product editor for each product, you also have the choice of setting the display options for inventory levels. You can choose:
  • None
  • In Stock (Y/N)
  • Item Count

On our store, I set the label for the count field to Available? If a product is a current production item but drop ships, I set the display options to "In Stock (Y/N)". If it's a stock item, I use the item account.

Hope that helps.

TC and MG,

Many thanks. We'll give that a go. Let you know what happens. ..........Ken
