I had geo trust, I now have ns. The advantage for me is that the ns ssl is cheaper. No other difference other than the graphic you display.

What about the shared ssl vs the geo trust, Ns ssl?
Is there a good reason to pay extra for these ssl solutions vs., the included monstersmile.gif ssl?

Thanks

We stayed with our Geo Trust over NetSol due to the popup issues posted in here elsewhere and we had Geo in the past.

If you move to a dedicated server you need your own SSL if I am correct. And of course during checkout the customer will see your URL the complete process.

This is correct.

Steve

What's the popup issue?

It's not really a popup issue...just a privacy warning caused by the javascript that makes the popup window when you roll over the seal....anyways...there is a solution:

p.s. now that I have the privacy warning solved....I agree with PK, network solns was a good deal...I signed up for the 3 year deal.

Hmm, I didn't realize this was happening and don't see it on my site. Maybe it's something that was fixed?

Hi All,

One reason to get your own dedicated SSL is due to the fact that your domain name will always be displayed on the address bar, and it will not switch over to a shared url. From this we have clearly studied and seen about a 5% increase in conversions for sites that had their own ssl over those that did not have their own ssl.

You will only see the privacy warning with certain browsers and settings. I don't see it in FireFox but do see it in IE 6.0 with privacy setting at medium.

PK, I do see the privacy eye warning on the bottom of your site.

I am not sure it is a big deal since most will probably not even notice it. It just bothered me so I was glad to figure out how to make it go away.

I renewed with Geotrust due to the popup privacy issue, plus it was much simpler to get validated. NetworkSoluntions gave me a hard time because one of the sites registry information is masked for privacy.

Ah, thanks for the info. It hasn't seemed to be an issue for me.
