Hello all, I hope in the lot of us that we have a few coders because I'm about to rip my hair out. Let me give you a few details... detective.gif

I've been getting these "Security Certificate" warnings when I've been visiting my site (pedlarswholesale.com) - We've just recently gotten a new SSL on our site and finally got a lot of things resolved minus this stupid security certificate that won't die. clap.gif

I was told by monstersmile.gif Commerce to take out my Livesite Manager script and see if I still receive the error. Well I took out the script and POOF the warning was gone! I did however notice that when I looked at the script it was setup as: <script LANGUAGE=javascript src='https://livesiteman.liveoffice.com/..... huh.gif

Well on a non-secure page you can't run a secure link otherwise you get an error like I was getting,... so I changed back the URL to http:// and no error! That was until I added items to my cart and clicked on checkout. Now the site wants to switch into https:// and that livesite manager link I have is viewed as an unsecured link unless it's changed to https:// bash.gif

Is there a JavaScript that can check a page if it's secure or not and provide a specific link so that when it's an unsecured page it provides a http:// url & when it's secure page it provides https:// url? I'm going way out on a limb, but I'm hoping someone either knows how to fix this issue, or knows someone that might have a clue. I'm just about out of hair at this point to keep pulling out and would appreciate any help anybody could direct me to. blinking.gif

Thanks for your time,

Nathan. worry.gif

Nathan,

This is a fairly common issue. It's not a problem with the script. It was just how the site security was set.

The domain name itself did not have the "www." prefix, but the SSL was purchased for that variation of the domain name. There is a setting in your site security to force a 301 redirect to the domain name listed there.

The store was also set to use the monstersmile.gif SSL for checkout and set to use your SSL for site admin access.

As I said, it's a fairly common thing and is usally cleared up with changing a few settings.

I just hope that I saved you a few sleepless nights developing code to test for that. thumbsup.gif

monstersmile.gif Commerce believes it's the script I have:

Well I hate to tell you, but LiveSite Manager is telling me what I currently have setup is correct but that my site should fix the code when it goes between http:// & https:// - As far as I know I don't believe there is any HTML that will automatically detect that for you which is why I when looking for some Java sources. Also there isn't anything on monstersmile.gif Commerce that would allow me to do anything like that anyway. I'm stuck with a simple line of code that cannot change.

CODE
<!-- Insert this where you want to place LiveHelp image -->
<script LANGUAGE=javascript src='http://livesiteman.liveoffice.com/lpchat/monitor.asp?hide=0&textlink=&SiteName=8A2E3BE1-01F5-49DA-B4BB-0DD8739D5422'></SCRIPT>
<!-- Insert end -->

Everytime I was getting the error (while the link was set to https://) it looked like so:

IPB Image

Now it's currently set to [b]http://
however once you add anything to your cart and click on the checkout button you then get a security information error.

IPB Image

So what the heck can I do from here? I've got too many people pointing fingers at what the problem is, but no real solution that I can fix. So what do I do now? This isn't the first time I've subbmitted this ticket recently, the other ticket was:

Too me it just looks like a bunch of Tech's butting heads on what the real issue is... but what is the real issue then if it's not the java script? worry.gif

Oh no... Chuck... sadly the "Security Certificate" error has returned. (The first image I posted above) ... I didn't touch anything, so did I some how unknowingly screw something up?
