Full Version: Windows Security Dialog

Cesar
Hello,

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but if not, then at least please point me in the right direction.

I am having an issue with the site that I am developing; when a customer goes to check out, and clicks on the New Customer button (or any action that puts the site in secure mode), The Windows Security Information dialog pops up. You know, the one that states that "This page contains both secure and nonsecure items..." I have done everything that I know of to get rid of the dialog, since I believe that it is causing customers to shy away from checking out, but I cannot get rid of the dialog. There is NO http:// references anywhere on the site. Everything is relatively referenced, and I mean everything, yet I cannot get rid of the dialog.

MonsterCommerce tech support cannot reproduce the issue, so they cannot help. I can reproduce it everywhere, so I do not know what's up (maybe latest security patch for XP?).

Does anyone out there have any ideas? I get this dialog on other monstersmile.gif sites, with the exception of the ones that use their own certificate.

The site is http://gearhounds.com/

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. If someone is going to test, please use the Test item.

Thanks,

Cesar

Cesar,
I have a similar issue. I was told by MC tech support that It is caused by having links to unsecured sites (i.e. non-https) on the page. I removed every outbound link from my top, bottom and side borders and the problem did resolve. UNFORTUNATELY, one of the links I had to remove was the one to my Network Solutions Security seal. I can get rid of the other stuff (including google analytics, though I'd like to keep that too) but I think it behooves me to leave the seal on the site. I just wrote back to MC tech support. I'll let you know what they tell me.

Cesar,
I fixed my issue by getting rid of all the outbound links and also by adding an "s" to the http for the Security Certificate to make it link to https This seems to have resolved my issue.

Thanks mmartis1.

My problem is though, that I have no external links at all on any of my custom code. If I could at least determine what is causing the issue, then I could work around it or something.

I really appreciate your passing on any info you get from tech support.
