Full Version: Anyone Using Ewish Gift Registry?

I read on a previous thread that monstersmile.gif partners with eWish. Not sure what that means exactly. I would be great if we could get some kind of discount for this service through monstersmile.gif. I checked their web site out ( http://ewish.com/ )and it looks very interesting and doable with the advanced product layout option with monstersmile.gif.

Anyone using this? Comments? Know a way to get a discount on the $500 setup fee?

CJS:

I've been using ewish for about a year - ever since monstersmile.gif terminated their Wish List Beta Program. The integration was pricey, but the wish list/registy is excellent.

There are a few things that you might want to keep in mind when considering this option. The first is that the ewish script can only reside in the Detailed Description field. This pretty much dictates that the layout of your site. And the second, and perhaps most disconserning thing is that APD is currently not compatable with the ewish script. If APD is turned on and customer press the "Add to Registry" button the product is incorrectly added to the shopping cart. To the best of my knowledge, monstersmile.gif has not committed to fixing this bug.

Hope this helps.

Wow, that is disconcerting. I wish monstersmile.gif would comment on this. I totally envisioned using the APD with the eWish. Maybe monstersmile.gif should scrap whatever they were thinking about gift registry and work out a deal with eWish. One of the threads on this forum said that monstersmile.gif has partnered with eWish. I would like to know what that means. Especially in light of finding out it is not compatible with APD.

Come on guys,

I hate to burst your bubble, but APD is a beta product that supposedly will always be a beta product. Just read the forums for all of the posts from us merchants, begging monstersmile.gif to allow us to use it! Ewish is some third party stuff that monstersmile.gif can't control.

I am with you on wanting features that both of these offer, but if its beta and unsupported, what do expect!

Merchants can use the APD option now. I know it is beta but monstersmile.gif recently opened it up to everyone.

It is just frustrating to see something so close that looks great but we can't use it effectively.

And 3rd party should not stop them. GoogleBuy is third party and they have incorporated it.

And the registry is an option /add on. If the company went belly up, you could easily remove the buttons and your cart would funciton just fine.
