Full Version: Help! I Just Signed Up For Card Services International

Well I signed up a few weeks ago. Just recently I looked them up on the BBB and I am now afraid to use them. I was stupid and gave them my bank info and they have already taken $50.00 for fees out of my account.
Can I get out of this any possible way?
Although I was accepted, I have yet to call and verify my information. Maybe that would help get me out of it?

I guess I could call my bank and have them block CSI, but I don't want to be blacklisted.

My limit is 4,000 and my average ticket is around 140.00. Does my lower limit make them any safer?

Thanks

Not sure I understand your issue. We have used Linkpoint (Cardservice) for six years and never had a problem.

Hello,
Here's my suggestion, if you don't feel comfortable with your decision, simply call CSI and see if you can't get out of your agreement with them. If they agree, make sure they also agree to release all of your funds before you cancel. This is critcal because some processors will hold those funds and some will actually hold funds for as long as 6 months.

Let me know if I can help!
Julie

From our previous experience with CSI - Be afraid. Be very Afraid. Run. We had to change bank accounts to get them to stop charging our account.

You should answer a question first:

Did you sign paperwork? Cardservice has a minimum one year agreement. If you "early cancel" they will charge you the remainder monthly minimums and customer support fees. Pretty standard is a $25.00 monthly minimum and a $10.00 customer support fee. So to come up with your early cancel fee they multiply $35.00 by the number of months remaining in the contract.

If you signed paperwork, you can get out of it; it'll just cost you. Their reasoning is this: if you signed a contract, you should have read it. By signing it, you are saying you are agreeing to ALL the terms set forth. You can't go back and say "oops, I changed my mind." No offense intended, but you should have done your research ahead of giving any banking information.

If they have already charged you $50.00, then are you using the services? You won't be charged as much if you use the services. The monthly minimum diminishes as you use the service.

Since you have already signed up with them, you may as well work with them and honor your agreement. If you feel uneasy just watch your bank account and statement and question everything. Cardservice isn't the worst company out there. Most of the problems merchants run into with credit card processors stem from the fact that they do not: 1. Research 2. Ask questions and 3. Read the contract before signing.

Hope this helps,

Jimmy

I didn't phsically sign any paperwork or activate the account, it was all done over the internet. My contract is for 6 months.

I called them days ago and emailed, no reply!

These guys are a piece of work. Beware I was shopping around for a merchant account for my Web Hosting and Web Development Company. I filled out their online app along with other companies online apps. I never heard from them until I got a package in the mail probably 3 weeks later with all the rates and fees. It also said thanks for choosing Card Services.

I called them right away and said I already have a Merchant account you took too long to get back to me. Their response was you signed a 1 year contract and we will have to see what the cancellations dept says. Well needless to say 2 weeks went by nothing from the cancellation dept except they hit my checking account for 400.00. I called them and they said that was the cancellation fee and kept stating I signed a contract. I asked them to produce the signed contract and they faxed me a computer generated contract and in the signature spot it put my ip address and the day I filled out the online form.

That was all I needed I faxed the Document to Bank of America and filled out the unathorized ACH withdrawl forms. They put the money back in my account the next day. I had B of A move my money into a new account and they closed the old one so they could not do it again.

You should be very afraid of Cardservices / Linkpoint they are bad people!!!

Wow...very mixed feedback.
I've been with CSI using Linkpoint for 4 years and never had a problem at all...rates are a bit high, but turnaround on deposits are fast and have always been reliable?

Whatever you do, good luck with it!
