I have many requests for a catalog. I know there is a great deal of expense involved and time as well. If anyone out there has a print catalog, do you have any input~ positive or negative about the experience? I am in the beginning stages of thinking about creating one for the business, but don't know where to begin my research. Any input at all would be appreciated.
It doesn't take much to design a straightforward catalog--except some design experience, a knowledge of the typical software formats and then, of course, a lot of time and then cash.
But if you can build your own website, you can probably design your own printed catalog. Here's one site I know of that specializes in short-run printwork, and they seem to be really helpful to boot. I haven't used them, but I found them to be helpful when I was doing a bit of research for doing my own print catalog. I ultimately decided that my money would be better invested in another website for my wholesale clientelle. But I know many people still like to have something tangible to browse through or file away for later reference, so printed catalogs are still very popular.
Here's their site:
Printing for LessYou will always want to check in with your local printers to compare pricing and quality, but this is as good a jumping off point as any. Good luck!
