Full Version: Apd-related Products On The Right Hand Side?
MonsterSmallBusiness Forums > MonsterCommerce > How do I?

after much tinkering, i have found answers to one of my previous questions, but alas, i am having way too much trouble moving the <%drawproductsrelatedproducts%> function from the bottom of the page to the side of the page. i have the table available and ready on the right side, but nothing will appear there. i have tried to insert the "draw thumbnail" function into that column too, just to make sure that it wasn't a function only of the related products, but still no luck...

any suggestions, hints or tricks?

i don't like the idea of someone being able to view, read about, and buy the product without even seeing the related products because they appear further down on the page than the shopper would need to scroll before buying.

thanks in advance...

it doesn't work... i asked the same question in April when ADP was realized.... tech support said it was the way the Draw function was created... they cannot go in the right hand column up and down, only at the bottom of the page, left to right

That is correct. At this moment there is no way to get them to line up anywhere other than the bottom of the page. I have been through this numerous times with tech support.

Maybe we have someone out there that has conquered this issue but I sure have not seen or heard of any being successful.

thanks for all the input. how frustrating. i was wondering if there was any other way that i could do it, perhaps using code other than the draw function.

of course there is another way to do it =)

If you are using ADP, you could make it part of your detailed description and manually create a small right hand column with related products....

You could do it this way but keep in mind that when ever you want to make a change to the related products or if you remove a product that has been added to a detailed description as a related product you will have to go and edit the HTML for each detailed description that it was used in.

It could be very time consuming. But it does give you a way to control where your related products are viewed instead of "out of site, out of mind" like they are now.

Just curious to see if monstersmile.gif Commerce has addressed this issue, yet. Putting the related products at the bottom of the page is just not practical. Customers will not typically scroll. The related products need to be on the right hand side.

MC, can or will we be able to do this?

Thanks!
