I am working on a new header for my site. Can anyone tell me what the standard size would be?
Thanks

Great question. One of our veteran designers says he usually designs his at 775 pixels wide. You can experiment with height based on the look you are going for.

Hope that is helpful!

Thank you for the quick response with the width. I really need to know what height works well on this monstersmile.gif platform. I remember designing a header a few years ago for our old site. I was so proud of it. Then when we placed it on the site the bottom disappeared. You had to use the arrow thing to see the bottom. A lot of waisted time and a real disappointment. Anyone have an answer here?
Thanks

I normally go for 800px wide max.

Shane's got a really good-looking site too. Some people will go all the way to 800. Ultimately whatever design works well for yours is the best solution.

When you get done, post your changes so we can check it out.

So I guess the height isn't really an issue? Thanks guys. I am just starting to work on it so it could be a while before I have anything. I will post.

I try to keep the height under 100px. Remember to check how it looks, and much stuff you have above the fold on a 1024x resolution.
