Full Version: Merchant Account Offer For Forum Members
MonsterSmallBusiness Forums > MonsterCommerce > Merchant Accounts

I wanted to make forum members aware of a discounted Merchant account that was formerly exclusive to Yahoo! Store Owners, through the Forums there.

This service is now open to monstersmile.gif Commerce Merchants.

The account is offered through Bill Dumont, with WorldNet Group. Bill has provided an excellent level of service to Yahoo! Store owners, and as many are migrating due to the changes at Yahoo! to monstersmile.gif Commerce, he would like to become active and affiliated with this group as well.

He will be happy to provide many satisfied references for those who find that they want to consider his service.

His Internet rates are:

Merchants doing less than 20K per month:

2.22%, 15c per transaction, $9.50 statement

Setup fee $29

Merchants doing more than 20K month:

2.19% 15c per transaction, $9.50 statement

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gateway(Authorize.net) - If Required

Setup $99.00

Gateway fee $15 per mo

5c per trans
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He is a personal advocate for his clients, and his service is beyond reproach.

I started using Bill in 2002 and have many good experiences.

When contacting Bill, call him at 714-979-0260 or email him at talk@emerchantdiscount.com. Be SURE to tell him that you came from monstersmile.gif Commerce.

I think you have nothing to lose by comparing rates and services. Give Bill a shot at your business and you won't regret the decision.

I would also be happy to answer questions as a client for those who want to post them here.

Hope to get to know more of you better. I am migrating some stores here from Yahoo! Shopping and have the task of learning this new platform.

Thanks to the Captain for allowing this offer to be passed on.

Regards,

Bob Bryant

Has anyone tried this yet?

I beleive that four merchants from MonsterCommerce have signed up for the service. I will check with Bill about then and hopefully get him to ask them to post about their experience so far.

I wanted to be the first to say: "I'm signed up with Bill and I am a very happy and satisfied customer!"

After perusing and printing out all the threads on these forums for guidance and feedback on merchant account providers, I was more confused than ever! Everyone seemed to have more questions than answers and every merchant account provider seemed to have some kind of drawback either in regards to fees or customer service. I still had no answers to my questions --so, who DOES give the best customer service? Which provider represents the best value? What is the difference between all the different fees? --my list of questions went on and on. After seeing this thread, I decided to give Bill a shot. He spent over 45 minutes with me on the phone, explaining everything in detail. I signed up with him (he even helped me fill out the application form, line by line) and as soon as I was done, I knew without reservation that I had made the right choice. My account was up and running within a week (probably would have been sooner if I hadn't chosen to call two days before Thanksgiving rolleyes.gif). I recently got my bill for the first month and there were no surprises: $34.50 (no transactions for the month) just as Bill had said it would be. Give Bill a call. Believe me, you will not be disapponted!

Thanks, Bill! I greatly appreciate your time and service!

Please let us know when you start processing how your expeirience is. We would all like to know that.

Hi,

We are currently processing with him and so far so good. I would reccommend going with Epay through him as it is very simple and organized to use.

I have just started with Bill, but so far so good! I will try to give reports as more time passes with them, so everyone can have a truthful and accurate report.
newbie
Wwhat is Epay? Im more than a little concerned that the bank is the same as you know who.

krazykickz
Epay is a gateway, it is AWESOME!

So simple to use and better then authorize.net in my opinion.

I understand what you mean newbie, if you find out any info, please let me know.

FYI...

For what it's worth. I went through Discover and I pay a $5 monthly fee and no transaction fees. The discount rate is about the same. I didn't pay a setup fee. I do pay extra for American Express which includes a small transaction fee. Might want to shop around.

IMotivate....Discover is your merchant provider/agent?
Never heard of this before.
Thanks for info
iMotivate
Yes, Discover is who I went through years ago. I close my account for the last couple of years and reopened a new one when I moved to MC. They handled the MC, Visa and Amex setup. Took 1 day. Here's my support number: 1-877-641-0371

I do have a terminal at home and manually process my own credit cards. I even have it where I can key in the shipping address for fraud protection. I like having the control over using an automated gateway. This way, I can reduce or increase the amount (after talking with the customer if necessary) and process the card when I want to. I can also take my machine to events, etc to swipe cards on-site.

O ok.

We have a wireless teminal also when we go to trade shows. I did not know that Disover did this though, so it is good to know.
newbie
How long have you been with Discover? How long do you wait for deposits?
iMotivate
Sorry - I've been off-line for about a week.

I've been with Discover since 1997. Funny, when I first approached them - they wouldn't have anything to do with me because I wanted to sell on the mysterious internet! The person I talked to didn't want to even hear the word "internet" and put me down as a "trade show" vendor.

Funny how things change - now they are beating down the doors to get our business!

I receive my money in my business account in 2 days. Batch out on Monday, receive funds on Wednesday morning.

Hope this helps.

I remember those days well!

People used to laugh when I told them they should put their business online.

One guy said, "Nobody will ever do well on that stupid internet".

I saw him a few months back. He is looking for a job because an online competitor is killing their small business with no online presence.

Hindsight!

Thanks for all the good comments here I am reading about Bill Dumont! I am glad to know he is able to work with some of you.

This is off topic, but I chuckled when I read this. I have contacted distributors and they have refused me as a client because my business is strictly online without a physical storefront. One even sent me a wholesale packet after I inquired via email that had a blurb something like:

As a valued customer, we pledge our dedication to your important business and never cater to online store owners that operate out of their basements.

That isn't verbatim, but I remember the reference to basements and was so completely offended! My stuff isn't in the basement! It's in a bedroom, spilling out into my living room! w00t.gif

Seriously, when I was researching opening an online store, I ran across several highly profitable local businesses that are online and started out of their basement. One business opened up 5 years ago and has over $1 million in gross sales now. Nothing shameful about online at all. (And you can't beat the hours!)

Purplekitty,
I am in the same industry as you are (needlework) and I definitely know what you mean! Some of the distributors require even a PHOTO of your shop!

Also, did you know, that until just a couple of months ago, one of the trade associations required that 51% of your business be walk-in traffic before they would even let you be a member??? Sheesh!

Ah yes, now that you mention it, I do remember this requirement from a few I talked to. It was like "Oh, well, I guess we won't be able to do business since I do not have a storefront."

I guess our industry is a little behind the times.

Even Amazon.com was started out of his basement.
No SHAME THERE.

Its kind of good for all of us that this is a major conception. Less competition beleive it or not.

In 1998, MonsterCommerce was founded in a basement... a garage rather. Businesses have to start somewhere... mosts successful start-ups begin where the overhead is low. smile.gif

I think that many banks still are deathly afraid of the Internet, however the trend is rapidly changing and becoming more favorable to merchants.

Youd have to put the systems buy now buttons on your site for it to work though.

Bill asked me to make the Forum aware of a new service offering that has just been made available to monstersmile.gif Commerce merchants...

WorldNet Group now gives you a CHOICE of Merchant Account Programs and some of the lowest rates available.

Process with First Data/Chase or I-Payment/First National

These low rates are now available to monstersmile.gif Commerce merchants.

As these rates are only available to select groups, they have been forced to implement a password protected page with this rate information.

http://www.emerchantdiscount.com/association.php

Username:merchant
Password:lowrates

(if you make a mistake you will have to close and reopen your browser to access the page again)

Thanks for giving Bill a shot at your business. I know he enjoys working the Merchants that come from monstersmile.gif. thumbsup.gif

Thanks - Bob

I tried a couple of merchant accounts, with paypol and Wordpay but I wasn't satisfied with none of them, paypal, although they have good customer support, had very few countries in their area of coverage. 299$ setup fee of worldpay is impossible for me afford. So the best option I could find is www.iKobo.com with no monthly fee and very good country coverage of 170 countries. Also iKobo has a pretty flexible merchant account system wich is easy to set up and use. They also offer IPN(instant payment notification). This is my experience, try it and let me know yours.
krazykickz
Thanks Dexter , I am going to check this out!
