Right now I use - june-starwars-c001 for something like a Star Wars toy. Because I am always uploading and taking down old toys I just don't have the time to give it a better #. I thought I heard it would be better to do it something like june_star_wars_c001, changing - to _. What do you guys do?

Can you use SKU or UPC codes? Not as "user friendly" but those are all unique. Just a thought.

Also put in any variables in the keywords,
such as 123412 if part number is 123-412,
We have lots of manu numbers that are xx-xxx, xxx-xxx-xxx, etc etc
and if you take out the dashes and put in the keywords at least a customer can type in either way and hopefully find.

I actually read an SEO article that said you should use the "-".
Their Reasoning:
The created fictious words like zxcvfdsa and qwerfdsa. They created like 4 or 5 of them. Then, using 2 or 3 of the words, they tried separating them by "-" and "_". The SE's picked up the ones separated by the "-" as separate words while the ones setup with a "_" were considered one word.
So for you, if you used Star_Wars, the search engines would see "Star_Wars". Where-as, if you put "Star-Wars", they would see it as "Star Wars".
Hope that helps.
