I have set up an item to be drop shipped in a test. I than set up one of my email addresses as the drop shipper email and set up a test wharehouse under the wharehouse editor. Why am I not receveing the test order?

Also I have asked this question before but got no response. How do you generate a backorder when an item is out of stock? And will the customer and admin get a backorder email?

Hello!

Let me clarify the criteria for Manufacturer Emails or Warehouse Emails to be sent.

** If the customer order is processed through an Online Payment option:

When during checkout user pays with a valid credit card and the order is marked as PAID IN FULL. The email will then send out.

** If order was paid with Custom payment or off-site payment option:

The store Admin needs to UNCHECK the New Order checkbox then move order to the status of Complete. The email will then send out.

I tested this on your site just to verify and it worked for my test order. I noticed that the test order you entered is still in the New Orders view, so the email will send once you uncheck the New Order box and change the status to Complete.


On your question of BackOrders when an item is out of stock, currently within the software we don't have a backorder management system. However, you can work around this by allowing negative product quantities and show stock. (Do this under Site Information - Site Wide Settings. On the Site Rules tab set "Allow Negative Product Quantities" to Yes and "Hide Products If Not In Stock" to No. )

Then when an order comes in for a backordered product, you can change the status to In Progress and enter in the order notes that the item is backordered. This was if the customer orders something that's in stock and something that's not, the order can be partly shipped.

I have heard that in the future Backordered may become an Order Status, like In Progress or Complete, to allow for better management of backordered products.
