I was wondering how to determine sales tax at checkout. I looked at tax rates in California and theres hundreds of them. Can anyone help me figure this out. Theres so many different cities and districts to customize all of them.

Hi Liv and Welcome to the Forums bigsmile.gif

You will need to contact your local taxing authority or state internal revenue service to determine with rate you need to charge.

You can set your rates up by state or Zip code under Admin Panel > Order Processing > State Tax Manager.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Thanks

I talked to BOE and I guess I am going to use the base tax rate of CA and just put a note on my site saying that if thats not the tax rate of your district that the customer is responsible for the difference. I had another question about shipping. Since I only dropship I have no original orgin so how should I figure that in.

Hello,

Theres one of two ways you can setup your shipping. You can use custom options and charge by the weight or price of the product. The other option would be pick a central location for the your items to ship from and use this as the point of orgin.

If you have any questions about how to set these up, please file a ticket or give technical support a call.

Thanks
