I have been researching merchant account and gateway providers prior to going live with my new site. I was all set-up with approval from PayPal but have decided to seek other options after reading all of the horror stories about their practices. Also because of the fact that it took me 3 weeks to get approval of what should have been a 24 hour process because of their cumbersome and unresponsive regulations and service.

Can anyone give me information regarding their experience with these companies? I am looking at Paynet as a merchant account provider and either Skipjack or Plugnpay as a gateway. Skipjack and Plugnpay are in the list of available payment gateways on the online payment gateways on the MC site.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

Hi Elkjunkie and Welcome to the Forums!! bigsmile.gif

You will probably want to still use Paypal as a secondary method of payment, but it is a good idea to get a primary payment gateway.

In your shopping around for a merchant account, please give MonsterMerchantAccount.com a call. They have competitive rates and obviously are compatible with MonsterCommerce.

I hope this helps.

Thanks

Brian

We use plug n pay and have had no problems so far (about a year now). No bells or whistles but a good FAQ database which has answered all my questions. Emails to cust support usually take at least 24hrs to get an answer.

Has anyone had any experience with SkipJack Gateway? We are converting to Stone Edge and need a supported Gateway that is good and moves quickly to approval.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Ditto for us. Same experience, except for a confirmed 15 minute burp yesterday morning and an unconfirmed outage of longer duration about 2 weeks ago on a Saturday. But these were the first I'd seen in 1.5 yrs.
