Full Version: Dns Transfer, Can Recv But Can't Send Email
MonsterSmallBusiness Forums > MonsterCommerce > How do I?

I tranfered my DNS to MonsterCommerce monday evening. I set up an email account which is the same as the one I used at my previous hosting company (for example, my_name@mycompany.com).

Now any email sending to my_name@mycompany.com will go to monstersmile.gif's mail server, ie. I receive email at MC's mail server. But I can NOT SEND out email from my monstersmile.gif's email control panel.

Instead, I can send out email from OutLook where SMTP and POP3 are configured to my previous hosting company mail server (webmail.register.com).

In short, my new monstersmile.gif mail server can receive emails sending to my_name@mycompany.com, but can not send. My old mail server can not receive email send to my_name@mycompany.com, but it can send email out successfully.

Is this due to the domain transfer, and will be temporary? Or it's going to be a problem? Did you ever run into such problem?

Thank you

Hello! In my experience there is no issue sending mail from the Internet Mail login for your site even prior to the DNS transfer, so I do not think this is the case here.

One thing I would check is how you set up your new email account within iMail. If you used the Manage Mailboxes feature, please delete that mailbox and create the new email address through User Administration.

To troubleshoot further I will need to know your domain and what type of errors you are receiving when you try to send from your iMail account. If you contact us at Tech Support by phone or through the Tech Support link within your store's Admin panel we can investigate your site specifically.

Thanks!

Lingz,

What is the name of your site? I can check the settings on your server and see if there is anything going on there to cause this problem. Conversely, you can put in a ticket or call us in Tech Support (1.800.353.6582) and we can get the problem taken care of.

This sounds like you do not have the mail client configured to use SMTP Authentication with your/our mail servers for outgoing mail on this account.
