I hope I'm not the only one that doesn't care for the background color schemes of the "newly skinned" forum. I can't pinpoint it.... but I think the dark grey background is causing my eyes a problem. The same goes for the purple quote background.

I don't know.... it all seems just a bit too contrasty.

Also, the "clickable smiles" emoticon box is offset to the right.

Just my opinion. This took 12 hours to accomplish? blinking.gif

Which skin? The background color hasn't changed on any of the skins. However, all of the skins were remade to accommodate to the upgrade's new features which includes an immense amount of javascript and reworked CSS (the idea wasn't to change the skins at all). Please don't hesitate to let me know any problems you might find (I've disabled my email and PM as I only work on MC's forums... you'll need to post whatever you may find on the forums).

the clickable smilies and the post text area are a fixed width centered to the forum. I have widened the "clickable smilies" so there's no longer a horizontal scroll bar. happy.gif Thanks for pointing this out.

For those questioning the amount of time the upgrade took to accomplish, modifying 100,000+ rows of data with new columns, data, keys, etc. on top of recreating skins takes some time to do. There were no problems during this process. The upgrade was necessary for security reasons.

Thanks for the input. bigsmile.gif

I think I figured it out. I made the quote backgrounds different shades of purple which was making the whole forum seem like "purple madness" if you looked at it long enough. :P The quote backgrounds were supposed to be grey and have been returned to their correct state. Hope that fixes it for you. happy.gif

I think this is a default skin. I bet the old skins will be back when they are reconfigured for the new board update.

Thank you for your response.

Yes... the quotes are much better not in purple. Although, they still seem a couple of shades too dark to me. I feel the contrast between the quote and non-quote areas is a bit too harsh.

The other area where the contrast is causing a problem, is in the message composition screen (the screen with the emoticon box). The darker grey background, up against the bright white message area seems harsh. I don't know what it was before, but it is causing me to have tunnel vision or something.

I hope I'm not the only one. worry.gif

Perhaps lightening the darker grey a bit in that area would help not make it so contrasty. Right now, it is the same darker grey of the quote background. Actually, I think making it the same lighter grey of the message board background would be fine.

I just realized that you can change the color scheme at the bottom. I'll play with those to see if one suits me better than another.

Thanks for listening. happy.gif

Personally I don't see a change at all lol. I must not use the forum enough to notice these changes. LOL

Like the lighter colors. Especially the grey! Getting easier to read.
