QUOTE
San Diego, California - (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) - January 12, 2006 - According to a new study by WebSideStory, Inc., web site search provided a huge boost to e-commerce sites during the holiday shopping season, helping convert visitors into buyers at nearly three times the rate of average site users.

Warning, this site is a little... ad heavy for my tastes, but the article was a decent one.

Hey James - Since you brought up the subject whistling.gif , any chance we might see content search integrated into product search any time soon? I realize it's a tricky thing to do but ecommerce pundits also tout the benefits of content ("Content is King", etc.), and if the user can't find the content they're looking for...

Is there a way to have my product id's that are embedded within the advanced variants section be searchable?

santoshashop
They we handle that is to copy all the IDs into the keyword field. Its a little tedious but it works.

MonsterMod,

I think monstersmile.gif really needs to update their search functionality. We can't search variants, Custom pages, or custom HTML pages. Is there any plan in the NEAR future to fix this?
ArcoJedi
I don't know of any NEAR plans to fix this, but I know that it is important and high on the list.

Several suggested workarounds have come my way, including creating product groups that relate to those specific keywords. Then the long description for the group would have HTML links through to each article/custom page that would be relevant. In other words, the groups would be the 'index' for these articles. Obviously not the best solution, but it helps a little.
