Order confirmation email sent to customer prior to completing payment through PayPal site
ID: 82 Target Version: TBD
Description:
When a customer places an order and pays for the order with the PayPal payment method, the customer receives the order confirmation email prior to completing the payment steps on the PayPal site. This may lead a customer to believe that they have completed the steps for placing the order although in order to fully complete the order they need to proceed through all of the steps on the PayPal site.
We are reviewing the usability concerns with this process.
Suggested Workaround:
Many sites have added instructional notes within the PayPal payment method description or a link to a separate PayPal instructions HTML page in order to clarify for their customers the steps needed to successfully place a PayPal order.

Any plans on if/when this will be fixed? This causes allot of confusion on both the customer end and our end, and results in allot of wasted time in follow-up phone calls, emails and explanation. Not to mention that a month later we have to deal with people asking where is there stuff that they have an email confirmation for - we look like amateurs and have to waste time coming up with an 'excuse'.
2 years seems like a really long time to be working on a problem. Is it being worked on?
Please fix this, or at least let us know if this is in the works.....
Thanks,
Steve
