For those looking to sign up for a Google Analytics account themselves (i.e. if you were not on Urchin On Demand and already have one), they posted an update to their site yesterday. It would appear that they are opening up a bit to new signups, similar to the way they did Gmail; by invitation only.

They are still limiting profiles to only 5, but this is still very good news!

I wish I could. Unfortunately, Google is not sending them out as invitations that other members can send, but instead they select small groups at a time to invite, based off of the signup page here -
