how the hell do you turn off the "tiered look". damn, it makes me not even want to come on here.
cnmor
whistling.gif i don't see any difference from the way the forums were 2 days ago.

For me, the forums look the same except for some color differences and the new reply area...

But I think if you go to the "Options" box on the top right of the threads you can just select "Standard" to get rid of the tierd look.

wow, much better!

Silly me, looking in board preferences!

Yeah, I figured it out and got rid of it long ago. It was driving me insane.

We upgraded the forum software for security reasons and recieved some new features along the way. Please point out any features you see that are broken etc. Regarding the tiered look, can you explain what you were seeing and how you fixed it. Others may be having the same issue.

Thanks!

Looks the same to me. Did you fix the search feature yet. I see you still have to wait 10 seconds between doing anything for Flood Control. How silly and annoying.

what are you people talking about? there really isn't much difference and its a pretty standard forum layout. it seems that so people are soo frustrated with monstersmile.gif that they are out looking for every oppertunity to b*tch. I hope you are this critcle of your own companies and websites.

Kman,

You really need to relax and let up on the Rah Rah stuff... Specially when you do not know what everyone is
talking about.

For some, when the new forums came up they defaulted to the "Outline" mode and not the "Standard" mode they were used too and did not know how to fix. Now they do.

If it doesn't look much different, you really do have no idea what we're talking about, so lay off. Just because YOU are not seeing it, doesn't mean something didn't happen to others. Oh, and yes - if my store suddenly looked so different that customers couldn't move about like they used to, I'm sure I would hear about it immediately from my repeaters.

Captain,

It didn't happen to me this time, but it happened to me the last upgrade where instead of opening the thread and seeing all of the posts, when you opened the thread, all of the subsequent posts were tiered below it so you had to open each one individually. I can't see how you can fix it after this upgrade, but for those that experienced it this time, maybe they can chime in to let you know how they switched it back to the standard layout.

Ah, I found it. When you're in the thread, click on 'options' in the upper right hand corner and then click on 'switch to outline'. You'll see what we're talking about. Seems some of us have been defaulted to the outline after the last two upgrades. If someone is showing the outline after an upgrade, just 'switch to standard' and it'll bring the look of the forum back to the way it was.

We are and our customer's are happy and loyal as a result. People were simply offering their opinions about the new forum not MC personally. As usual Kevin, you should have just quit with "what are you people talking about?".

No one is 'out to get' MC or spoil anyone else's love affair with them. People just post their opinions in the forum because...well...that's what a forum is for.

Besides, I only know of a handful of merchants who make 'b*tching' an Olympic sport... lol.

By the way... Can anyone tell me how to perform a spell check when posting? I can not seem to find it...

Thanks

Doug
Captain
Thanks Purple... I will report this to see if there is anything we can do to fix.

Doug, I will ask where spellcheck went... I can't find it either. :

I will have UltraShock post shortly.

According to the settings, its standard mode by default. I even cleared my cache and tried a different browser just to make sure and the default mode is indeed standard. For anyone how might be having an issue with the mode, purplekitty pointed out how to change it back. bigsmile.gif

Me neither. doh.gif Looking into it now.

I've implemented the updated spellchecker. the only thing you'll probably notice different is its new location while posting. laugh.gif

Yeah, it's no big deal once you realize that it can easily be changed back.
