Hi, I have just purchased Stoneedge's Order Manager.

For those of you who have it, how do you handle your Order status in MC? Do you update the MC order manually or do you never even look at orders in MC anymore?

I was told that I can buy the Order Status Manager and link my customers from my website to it so that they can see where there order is at.

Has anyone done this? Is it easy to do?

Any feedback would be appreciated !

We were going to get the Order Status program but never have. When we import our orders into OM from MC we move our MC orders into an "In Progress" folder. This does two things. It helps us keep track of the orders we are working on and it tells our registered customers that their orders are in progress if they log-in to our MC store. Then at the end of the day we move our orders in MC to a "Shipped" folder or other folders we created, such as "Partially Shipped," "Backordered," etc. Again for our records and registered customers.

There are times that an order will be left in "In Progress" which causes us to look all over our shop to find it. So it helps us out.

We have set OM to send an "Your Order Has Shipped" e-mail when it imports tracking numbers from either UPS or Endicia. This e-mail includes tracking info. OM's e-mails are very customizable and flexible. You can also send many other e-mails through OM anytime you want.

We now rarely get, "Where's my order?" e-mails. Last Christmas we were inundated. This year we got only 2 or 3 a day. Usually it was because the customer didn't enter their correct e-mail address so they didn't get our e-mails. I'm positive those people also wouldn't be able to log-in to the Order Status system if we had it.

Thank you SO Much! That is very helpful, I think I will give your "system" a try.

Have a great holiday!

Also - I believe StoneEdge has discussed that in the future, they'll be adding the ability for SEOM to update the order "status" in monstersmile.gif too, so that we don't have to go back to monstersmile.gif and manually move orders between statuses. AFAIK, there is no timeline for this to happen - but at least it's being considered for future development.

I think that tracking numbers would also be imported too via XML. They already do this with other shopping carts. I believe the problem is that MC doesn't give the kind of access necessary to do this.

From as much as I understand it (and maybe Barney will comment here too) - StoneEdge writes a script which is placed on our sites, that has access to our data (orders, products, etc.) This script can be modified by StoneEdge, but has to go through approval from monstersmile.gif. So - once StoneEdge makes that modification, monstersmile.gif has to approve it - and then we could get those benefits. At least that's how I think it goes happy.gif

That is correct. Right now that feature (having the Order Manager automatically update status info, including tracking numbers, in MonsterCommerce) is on hold, waiting for some changes that MC is making. Hopefully it will be available by late Q1 of 2006. In the meantime, our own Order Status System can be easily incorporated into a MC store. Although there is an additional charge for it (about $1 per day for merchants averaging up to 100 orders per day), it has the added advantage of supporting ALL of your orders: MC, phone, mailorder, POS, other channels such as Amazon, eBay, Shop.com, etc.

I hope the Holidays were good for all, with lots of sales and happy customers, very few returns, and some time left over to spend with your families. Best wishes to everyone for a safe, healthy and prosperous New Year!
