Full Version: How Many People Are Looking At My Site?

Hello

I'm new so please bear with me.

When I look at my site stats (Urchin5) I see page requests, sessions, hits, etc. I understand about hits being each server request.

When I look at the stats, I find that page requests for the index.asp page is larger than any scenario I can come up with using any other stat combination. Usually by a factor of 2.

Is this reasonable? Does landing on a monstersmile.gif Commerce Page call the server twice?

Sorry if I'm nit picking, but I would like to know whether 1000 people or 2000 people looked at my site today.

Thanks
Steven

Unfortunately, Urchin 5 not only includes actual visitors but also spiders and bots that are crawling your site. Therefore, there is no acurate way to tell exactly how many single 'humans' are visiting.

Best to check your 'referrals' and drill it down from there.

I have tried to eliminate identifiable spiders, but I don't know if they all register. I will work thru the referrals and see if I can get a feel for that.

Thanks for the help.
