Is there a way to download the customer database? I'm getting ready to do Christmas cards and I need to do a cross-reference of what is in the system and what I have on my master file.

Thanks!

You can download it with dataport. Not sure if you can do it any other way.

That is 1 in particular thing that I wish we could do. I wish we could download orders and customers via txt, csv without dataport for those that don't need all of the other things.

Not sure if I am missing something here. I would like to send a message to all our customers. Now, this is not to send a newsletter, but something different. Yet, unless I got thru each individually, I have no idea how to get the customer information downloaded. I saw the dataport reply, but have to admit that I am not quite sure what that is. Could someone help me please? Thanks.

Dataport is an external program (and monthly charge!) that allows you to upload/download your customer, order, and product data. Once you've downloaded the data, you can create a file readable by Excel or other programs, and parse out only the data you need (e.g., name and email address).

Take a look here.
