Full Version: Discount Codes
MonsterSmallBusiness Forums > MonsterCommerce > How do I?

I want to offer a free something to the first 50 newsletter subscribers that order after I send out the newsletter. I'm trying to find the best way to "track" this without having them manually type "free blah, blah, blah" in the comments section. I've assigned a discount code with 0 as the discount and have it linked in my newsletter. What will happen? Will it work like I think it will and that no dollars will be subtracted but that when I download my orders, I'll see that the code was used?

Does anyone do something similar? Or have a different idea of how I can do this?

PM me a copy of the email with the cookie link and I will try and checkout with it and see what this shows. If the discount shows but has a 0$ value then you should be all good.

I'm still working on the email, but actually, you've given me an idea. Why I didn't think of it myself. As soon as I'm done with it, I can send myself a test email and then check it myself.

The discount code will show up on the copy of the invoice. You may not want print out the discount code if supplying a copy of invoice to customer. You can disable within the admin panel. This is how we track all our Yahoo and Google links. Works great. Also is supplies in order information when obtained from Dataport for analysis.
