Full Version: Order Management System ? Which Is Best?

What is the best order management system to use with MonsterCommerce. We are a company with 10,000+ items. 95% of our orders are drop shipped from vendors. We need a system that easily automates the sales and purchasing system. We also have 25000 customers, so Quickbooks may not be an option for us.

Anyone using a great order management system?

We use Order Manager from Stone Edge. http://www.stoneedge.com/

It works really well for us. However, we don't do any drop shipping so you'd want to look into how well the drop shipping features work.

We had a nightmare with QB when we reached 18500 customers. That's the limit in QB of all names, including inventory items and customers. So you are already almost 15000 over their limit.

Hi,

I've been looking at this too. It may be worth the price....but I don't really know. We currently have barcodes on NONE of our products(well most of them). What do you use for this with StoneEdge? Does this create professional looking packing slips?

TIA
Does anyone else use StoneEdge?

Donnav: StoneEdge supports drop ships quite well. In fact, I just saw a posting (on another forum) from someone who uses StoneEdge who went from spending 6-8 hours just processing orders and creating purchase orders each day, down to one hour for everything. StoneEdge is a great order management program, and because it's open source - provides unlimited flexibility. If you want to read up on drop shipping in StoneEdge, you might look over some of the knowledgebase at:

http://www.stoneedge.com/help/OM_DOC/Inven...op_Shipping.htm

Rungreen: StoneEdge definitely works better (when packing orders) if you have barcodes on all of your products, but it is not required. You can still gain tremendous advantages by having an integrated order processing system (that handles all of the orders (by phone or imported from the website automatically), all of your inventory, purchase orders, drop ships, customer information, payment processing, packing orders and printing shipping labels)... however, StoneEdge can also print barcodes for all of your products that you can place on to the items.

About 75% of our products come with barcodes on them... however, we still remark every product we get with our own barcode. It makes the barcode easier to find when packing the order (as the barcode sticker is always a consistent size and easy to find). It also verifies that we get the correct quantity of goods when receiving (one label per product... if we have extra labels, we were shorted, etc.) It also gives us another branding opportunity by having our website and phone number on our barcode labels.

We don't use barcodes. The standard packing slip looks decent. However, you can customize it to look like you want.

If you are paying someone a few hours a day to enter and process orders or if you are doing it yourself, its well worth the price. We are saving hours of work everyday that frees us up for improving and moving our business forward. Look, I have time to do this.

StoneEdge has had excellent tech support the few times we needed it. We are very satisfied.
