Reference my earlier post "Same Item 2 Different Containers"
Megan from MC sent me an email asking how the site conversion was going. In my reply, I asked her about how to set up a single reference to an item (with description) that when clicked displays that item in several different sizes with different prices, sku, etc. for each item. She responded with an email explaining that I might want to use Product Groups instead of Variants to accomplish this. She then set up an example on my site. Beautiful.
What I now have is a description of an item and a picture. When the customer clicks on that, a screen comes up that looks very much like the standard item screen (description, detailed description, etc.). Except, where the price and quantity buttons should be, there are three items (call them small, medium, and large) with their own picture, price, and buy button.
Todd, I believe that this would work for the vitamin example that you offered in the other thread.
My hats off to Megan and the folks at MC. Rarely have I dealt with a company that provides this level of customer service. You guys rock.

That's what we like to hear! I will commend Megan in the company-wide meeting this morning!

Thanks for the advice, I will definately have to check into that! I have not even had time to look at the groups

but from the doc's it does seem like it would be a rather powerful yet simple way of accomplishing that.
Good luck!

I use them heavily in our site. Look and see -- the second click past most categories are product group pages.

I like your site, clean and proffesional.
How do you get the list to show up with the stacked order buttons? Like with the Barrier Pack, 12" Straight Wall, 12" Wall end, etc. I really like that.

That depends on which list you are talking about....

Give me a page and I will let you know as much as I can.

That is all HTML on a product group page. Used code from the existing MC store for that -- and so far it hasn't broken, so I am glad they aren't updating the code.
No custom programming, just hard work.
