Here we go. I read some time ago this RSS and blogs topic here on the forum and decide to go for because is free - since we did not have that much money to pay for PPC.
I started with one article and at MS* I was out there right away. After Yaho*.
Now I am #1 for "Sexy Nursing Bras" at MS* and had some sales with that keyword.
But before I was in a good position, my blogs were ranking better than my site.
My Blog was the # 1 for "Sexy ... Bra" and my site was not even appearing . Actually I have lots of keywords that I just appear in the 1st page or second thanks to my blogs.
And mind that I just put content in there. Now, after the great help my fellow merchant from INetVentures has been giving me about keyword relevancy and placement I am optimizing my blogs and hope to get even more traffic.
I am doing the SEO of my site now ... so it will take some time to propagate. Being that said, would you believe me if I tell you that 75% of my sales were made by people that find us on our Blog?
Yes, that's true.
How do I know that?
As we are still small, for every order I send a nice welcoming letter and at the end ask the costumer where did they find us.
The response usually is:
1) We saw your blog
2) We were searching, came across with your blog, and went to to the site.
PPC has not been working at all for us. I just stopped it now and not willing to come back any time soon.
My goal now is place one topic a day on my blog and optimize it.
Also, I have RSS feeds on my pages and have syndicated all my blogs.
