How is it possible to be ranked in the engines before you go live? Can you list the steps you have taken to build up the new site before going live? Anybody else have feedback on how to prep a site? Thanks!

If you are considering building a 2nd store, buy the domain now along with a bargain basement hosting package (some company's offer hosting for $8/month).
Post about a dozen pages of text on the site with proper link structure, naming schemes and keywords. Then link to the site so FreshBot visits the site and indexes your pages (this can take anywhere from a few days to a few months (the higher PR sites you have linking to it, the faster you will get indexed).
Then, you can build your store on an IP address down the road, and when you are ready to go live, point the domain to the new IP (and you will have a headstart. Google will already have indexed your site... and FreshBot will quickly spider your store and you are off to the races. Then you can cancel the bargain basement hosting account.
