Full Version: Problems Uploading Jpg Product Images!

At first I thought I might have a corrupted Photoshop Installation on my iMac.
So I first deleted my Photoshop Preferences file.
Then I tried resaving the jpg images both in Photoshop and ImageReady.

Everytime I try to upload images to my Product Images folder
I get this error message in a small popup window.

"You are not permitted to upload this file type.
Please use a suitable file type.
Operation Aborted."

I called MC Tech Support, and he was able to upload a jpg to my Product Images folder.
After he saved a jpg there, I downloaded it, deleted it from the Product Images folder,
then I tried to upload his jpg myself - which worked.

So I must have to reinstalled photoshop on my system, but I'm not able to find my CD.
Do you think reinstalling Photoshop will fix the problem?

We had a similar issue a few weeks ago with PCs at work and turned out our router had a firmware lockup for no reason and stopped almost all uploads. But not always.
We figured it out by doing speed tests and they timed out on the upload.
Then we removed the router and went direct to the cable modem and caught it.
The strange part was it was random.

This may not be your solution but maybe worth a look it this sounds like it on your end

Wow thanks I will check it out! I didn't think anyone would reply. Thanks.

The software sees .jpg and .JPG differently. Make sure that your extensions are in lower case. Also, a work around is to use the multiple file upload option. Yet another thing to watch is when you upload a large amound of images. You may get an error at the end. Most of the time though after you get the error, all the files are there.

Try changing the https to http in your address window when in file manager. We had the same problem and somone here on the forum directed us (correctly) to do this. Problem was solved.
