Basketsforher,

I would like to apologize if the fact that this thread topic was renamed has caused you any inconvenience, but this is done on a constant basis to help to organize the forums and make the information posted here easier to find and the thread headings more relevant to the topics discussed.

If you have not noticed, this is not the only thread that has been managed this way today. Any single thread with multiple topics has been logically divided up into separate threads.

This is done for an improved user experience for everyone. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Nice spin James.

George Bush just called. He needs your help justifying the war in Iraq....

Last time I checked, the renamed thread was in a category called Rants and Raves. You took a Rant and made it look like a rhetorical question. How does that “improve the user experience”?

Call a spade a spade. It MC’s bandwidth and all rants will be sanitized so cleanly that even a Puritan wouldn’t raise their eyebrows.

Fact: the original post from basketsforher being referenced here was actually not even in the Rants & Raves category to begin with, I moved it there from somewhere else around noon. This post has to do with feedback on the forums and the job that I am doing organizing this mess. So... I moved it into the "Forum Feedback" thread -- where it logically belongs.

If my point was to HIDE or 'sanitize' something like this, I wouldn't have moved this thread into a non-merchant's only area like it is now.

Earlier today, I took a thread topic title that looked something like "BIG @%&$ problem with the new version - Disaster - EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS!!!!" and I changed it to be specific to the issue. I agree that it is an Issue with a capital "I" and changing the topic title doesn't deny this, but my job duties specifically outline changing topic thread titles to be specific to the topic being discussed. It could be argued that titles and subtitles should be left alone, word-for-word what the person first types, but don't make the argument to me, as I'm just doing what I've been told to do. It makes sense anyway.

This is Terri at Baskets for Her - The Person who posted that thread - the post did not read that way - not even close - this is an issue I will take up with Steph in our conversation tomorrow.

Mr monstersmile.gif moderator - focus you energy on correcting the problems instead of being a spin doctor - you know my thread was not titled as you say - you are putting a negative spin on an important post that we had -

Your reply to this person is upsetting - untrue - unprofessional & uncalled for

Terri

I don't know any of the specifics on this, but as someone that takes part in many forums and runs one myself I know that forum management can be a nightmare.

You simply cannot please everyone and many posts do need to be edited to keep the forum up to a certain level.

I, for one, think it's obvious why threads are being renamed and moved and it has little (if anything) to do with providing better search.

Of course, there are a few MC cheerleaders on the boards which will always say otherwise. dry.gif

Look, I really don't want to see any infighting among MC merchants. I understand that it may upset some clients that threads are being renamed or moved (although this has always been done, daily, since the forum's inauguration). I also appreciate other clients speaking up that this is a necessary evil. I don't even mind if the first group of upset clients wants to suggest that we do this for our own benefit as well as our client's benefit. To an extent this is true and I see no problem with it. Feel free to post (calmly) if you disagree or to direct your feedback to me in a PM if you need to.

But no matter what your opinion, let's not be talking about other clients or users, calling them 'cheerleaders' or anything else. I'm closing this thread at this time. Thank you.
