Here's the screenshot of what part of the payment page should look like:

Here's what mine looks like:

How do you get the 'Select Payment Method' and the text that describes the payment options in there? Does everyone look like mine? You can't tell what payment method that link refers to.

We had to go into the fonts and styles and save (creating a new/revised css?) before the new checkout stles showed up.

Didn't work for me.
If you go into Sitewide color and fonts then down to checkout section you will see checkout header and body text, this is where you can change this.

Found that. Changed the colors. I still do not get the actual text to show up.

Here's what mine looks like:
Have you tryed to go into Site Information>>Global Settings and there is a list of default checkout labels and you should see one that is called Payment Method header, here you can put any type of text you like.

PurpleKitty,
Most likely, you changed one of the settings on the site layout font menu, but the old settings were still cached in your browser for a few minutes until you tested it again. It appears to me that the font settings are now showing that field (after I cleared my cache) so you did the right thing changing the font settings.

How do you change the fonts/colors on these two headings? I can't figure out what's what.

Here's a tip: When I was tweaking with my fonts to get them to look right, I had a little trouble figuring out which font setting in the admin screen affected which area of the checkout screen. What I did to figure this out is View Source on the Checkout screen, then search 'find' for the text that you want to change the font for, then look in the html for surrounding font "class" tag - this usually mapped pretty clearly to a corresponding setting in the sidewide color and font options. Of course - there's probably and updated manual somewhere that might be easier than this approach.
I stole this from another thread. I'm going to give it a try.

I suggest using this quickguide as a starting point -
http://kb.monstercommerce.com/support/quic...V.html#checkout- and the link above goes to the section specifically for these new checkout fields.
You can also see more information at the following link which I used to find the link posted above.
http://kb.monstercommerce.com/development/...nges_intro.htmlI sometimes will view source on a page and find the tag that you are looking to change and find the font class that is assigned to it and then look for that in the Site Layout menu.
Bookmark, have you been able to find the setting that you were looking to change?

CODE
<td class="checkouttext" colspan="3"> </td></tr><tr><td class="checkoutheader" colspan="3">Select Your Shipping Method</td> </tr>
It's Checkout Header Text for Select Your Shipping Method, Special Instructions, and Select Your Payment Method.
Pay with Credit Card is Checkout Sub Header Text.

James -
I had read through the QuickGuide, but didn't see anything specific to fonts and colors and which setting goes to which heading, etc. Did I miss it?
I've been a little frazzled trying to get my shipping methods straightened out today.

bookmark,
I can understand being frazzled. It's been a busy week. :-) There are multiple pages to the Site Design Quickguide now and you may have missed the specific page that refers to these font styles.
http://kb.monstercommerce.com/support/quic..._designIII.htmlI hope this may help. Let me know if this is not what you are looking for and what text you would like to change. Thanks!
