Hello everyone. Finally after trying to register for more than a week I am here. I am setting up a new
commerce site for my brother-in-law. I am just good enough at this to be dangerous
I have a few questions. I am using the template #9, but need to change a few buttons possibly. I know it's not the right colors for our company and major design questions will be in the future. What if I wanted to remove the Company link at the top and maybe add a different named link like FAQ's for instance. Can this be done easily? Also, how do yo replace the entire header with a logo and not make the top links go away? Will need to find someone to design a logo. (Can't afford

If I add products without images can they be listed horizontally? Or would I have to either leave the images blank, (concerned about how things will line up) or put up a generic image coming soon, regular and thumb nail image? Also should I ask users here to try to register and test things to see if they break

Commerce staff have been extremely nice and helpful.

Hi, yes this can be done easily. You will need to go to >>>> "site html" and then choose top of the page editor. If you know how to code it without the WYSIWYG editor, the you can just browse through all of that script and look for "company" After you find company replace it with "Faq's".
However you are going to have to create a custom page, so that you can get a link for your faq page. This can be done by going to "site html" and clicking on custom pages. This step is only neccessary if you do not have a page in which you want the faq page to link to. Then just create a hyper link with the text "faq's going to the faq page.

Well you wouldnt really call it replacing the entire header. You would call it using bother custom and default options. When you go to site html>>>top of the page editor you will see a drop down that lists : custom only, default only, and default and custom. Well you want to choose the option that says "both default and custom"

No to list your products with only one product per row horizontally, you need to go to: site information>>>site wide settings>>>>site layout and you will see many options on how to layout your products. Such as how many to have in a row, etc...such as Number of products in category row,etc......

Thanks alot for you help. I appreciate the speedy awnser to my questions. And another question. If I choose the theme #9 which I have done and save it as "nascar", and really stupid mistakes with the html or choosing different options in the site settings. Can I go back to the default theme #9 and everything look like it was at the beginning? My main concern is will it hurt the inventory at all since it took so long to upload just what's there, and I have much more to upload.

No..............You can save your default as nascar just in case you mess up you can go back to that template and start again. that is the great part of the template section..lol.
Also, if you buy something on your site, and you are using inventory, make sure you cancel the order so it can return the items back to stock....otherwise your inventory is going to be one item(s) short.
