Does anyone know how to take a picture of clothing that makes it look like it is on a person but all you see if the item and you can also see the inside of the shirt? I am sure there must be some kind of form to use for this but I am clueless and have searched a long time to try and find something like this. Any clues?

Could you not just get a white manakin? Place the shirt, take a hi res image, and then alter in Photoshop?

The thing is most manequins have the neck part that sticks up preventing people to see the inside of the shirt. Below is a link to an item that is on my website that Nike provides us with and is how I want to do it.

what if you got a manequin without the neck, then attach string or something to the back of the neck line to keep it up? The string would either be invisible or could easily be removed in Photoshop.

How about a wire hanger and photoshop it out. There will just be to little spots on the t-shirt in the corners of the opening. Use the clone tool it will take 2 min per shirt ..if that. Just hang it infront of a white backdrop.
Hope this helps

Might need to put some pads on the hanger so the shoulders stick out a bid.

maybe manuquin was the wrong term, but you see them all the time in sport shops, its just the upper body, normally in clear plastic.

Is it possible you can lay the item on the floor and pad it inside and shoot that way?

I have tried that before and it just never looks right. It is hard to get that perfect body shape. I guess I can always take one of my platic mannequins and cut out the neck so that it would be the way I wanted. I just know there has to be some type of mannequin out there for this purpose b/c I see tons of companies who do it.

The neck is empty - maybe the "head" can be photoshopped out?

Hi
We had a shop and used to have a catalog and do exactly what you are asking:
What we did was hang our T Shirt on a door or somthing with a HANGER. then in photoshop take out the hanger, you can still see the TSHIRT.
I am willing to do this for you if you email me the pictures (For Free)
Hope this helps

Hey TheRedZone.
if you look at my home page, you'll see a new t-shirt we are carrying (click on the product and there is a related t).
They were worn by people when I photo'd them.
In photoshop, I just used the pen tool:
-create a path
-change the completed path to a selection
-move the selection to it's own layer
-add a new background layer with the same color of your sites background--in your case, looks like white.
voila.
Good luck with it.

I've heard the author of "Ebay for Dummies" speak, and she said that displaying clothes on manequins is single most effective way of selling clothing. Her name is Marsha something.

Hmmm - I have to disagree. If we put a piece of clothing on a child - a real live one - we will sell that picture way more times then if we have just taken it on a mannequin or laying flat. Look at our front page of our website - the child wearing this dress has 'sold it' for us over and over!
