We wanted to go live tomorrw due to an article appearing in the newspaper - but our CC set up is not ready. In the meantime we would like folks to look at the site, just not be able to buy.

Is there a way to disable the buy feature? My preference would be if the hit the Buy button, they would get a pop up with a message or a new window.

You could enable custom payments as a short term solution so you do not miss out on sales... and notify them that it will take X amount of time to ship...

You can also disable the buy buttons on a per product basis.

I'd suggest using the "Call" option for each item and enter text that says "Coming Soon" or something. If you use Dataport this is pretty easy, but if you don't & have alot of items you may not want to go that route.

Where is the Call Option?

When you open a product in the product editor you should see a checkbox that says "Call" and also a text box for the "Call message".
