Full Version: Remove All International Registration Options
MonsterSmallBusiness Forums > MonsterCommerce > How do I?

I would think this would be easy, but after searching help and the forums I am stumped. How would I remove the Province and Country fields on the registration form. I do not have any rates specified for any other countries and I have real time shipping set as yes.

On the same note; how does one remove the question and checkbox for subscribing to the newsletter during registration?

Am I just missing something obvious?

Thanks for any help.

Hi Mueller,

I think the only way is to use a script... I remember I-ve seen a script in this forum to hide a part of the checkout but I didn't keep it...maybe somebody can help..

mueller
Thanks 454Casull.

So can I assume that if I have everything set up on the back end to not accept international shipping addresses that it will cause an error message if someone tries to do this?
mueller
Ok, so I can deal with leaving the province and country registration stuff intact, but we will not have a newsletter and I will be surprised if this check box cannot be removed.

Anyone know how to remove the subscribe to newsletter check box?

Hey Mueller,

I think again that the only option is a script... but I cannot help you worry.gif . Go to the area of this forum where custom cripts are posted, they-re very good there and you could get quickly some helpful answer..

Ciao!

Thanks Enrico, I will take a look over there.

I can't believe that everyone that uses MC distributes an e-newsletter and wants this option to appear at registration. This is a bit odd and considering all of the options to turn things off and on in the admin panel I am surprised they left this out.

You're right, but normally everybody likes to keep updated his customers about specials, new products etc. Why don't you want to have a newsletter? By the way, where your store is based?

I don't know if this will help, but I think if under Order Processing<Shipping Manager you set the question "Allow International Shipping Address" to no, those boxes will go away.

As far as the newsletter checkbox...that is a good question. I never thought about it because we do use a newsletter. But seems like you should be able to turn if off. But I could not find a switch in the admin panel. So maybe a script would solve that one. Or the new checkout design that is coming soon?

Tried that and it still appears, doesn't quite make sense..... Oh well, I posted in the scripts forum and I will see if anyone has a good idea.

Thanks for the input.

I think of Newsletter as a regula thing, not an occasional thing, but goog point.

Not sure what you mean here. We will be based in Southern CA, physically and our store is hosted here at MC.

cjs' instructions should be correct and setting the International Shipping Address field to 'No' should hide the international options below State/Zip. If you have done this and it didn't work, I'd like to take a look at your site and see if we can find out why. It may work different if you are based in another country, not-US and the provice/postal code are standard for that country. But perhaps I am missing something.

Do you have a link to your site? I'd put in a ticket for this and our techs can test it out. I will also check on your questions about the newsletter box but I think this is not currently an option yet.

To be more specific. With no internation orders allowed this stuff disapears when placing an order. However if you click on the log in page then go to register as a new user the province and country stuff still appear. I don't think this makes much sense.

Does this help?
