Full Version: Searches And Variants, Search By Size
MonsterSmallBusiness Forums > MonsterCommerce > How do I?

howdy all,

Im not certain if this has already been covered... we have had numerous requests to be able to search by size.
We have a site that sells primarily apparel and we organize sizes with advanced variants. Is there a way to set this up so a customer can search by size or a workaround for that matter, and if so what is the best way for us to do this? I guess we could list the available sizes within the product description but that would not reflect our "real time" actual inventory and could disappoint our customers

Thanks
Cannen
I feel your pain. Since I am in the automotive industry, a lot of our customers, after entering our site, type a part number in the search box. This is part of our variants but isn't accessible through the search. The data is there, but monstersmile.gifs search won't/can't look in it.

monstersmile.gif,

Why can't we search within variants?

It's unfortunate, but it's a known issue folks.

I'm told by QA/Dev that this will be addressed in the Q3 update.

Thanks for your patience!

Clint,

That bug you posted only addressed advanced variants. Is there a fix in the work for regular variants?

Q3 update too, Cannen.

Try adding the size in the keywords as a work around, i.e xs,small, medium, large

etc etc and see if that helps your issue. of course issues like xsmall or extra small
will also be a problem, but give this a try.

Good idea!
