Full Version: Online Insurance Costs...

I spoke with an MC client (Ken from OasisPoolspa.com) and he had a general enquiry.

"Hello, I was talking to my insurance agent and he indicated that if my business sold on line my insurance cost would rise significantly, people/kids making unauthorized purchases etc. Is this correct. Do you have names of insurance companies I could call to get a business policy quote?"

Anybody have an answer for him?

Thanks!

Ryan

Do you mean liability insurance?

Yes, the insurance costs would increase BUT it also depends on the products you're selling.

Then again, you might not even need insurance unless you're selling flame throwers or ninja stars.

My view on insurance is the more you have - the more likely you'll get sued. Sometimes lawyers will decide on whether or not to sue you not for what you did but how much insurance money there is to be had. Bear that in mind.

Very true.

I suppose if the client is selling pools and spas, insurance would be a good thing. My first question would be is he a proprietorship/partnership or LLC or corporation? I'd definitely be looking to protect my personal assets before worrying about insurance especially if I was selling something like a spa.
