If a customer manually entered a defined discount code, how would one create the discount to work with a minimum subtotal? Every cart I have seen seems to allow global discounts, but not based on code representing a minimum purchase.

Example:
C3AGP001 when entered in a requested discount box, would allow $10 off the entire order with a minimum order or $100

but

C3AGP002 when entered would allow a free item with a minimum purchase of $75

I have a variety of discount codes referring to different offers - more than one may be in effect at the same time.

As far as offering discount codes with a specific order amount, you can not at this time do this.


However if you go to inventory>>>price discount editor>>>

here you can set discounts based on the order amount to discount automatically. However you cannot do the following:

1. Set it for a specific product - it is for the whole site

2. and it is automatically preset, so you cannot apply a discount code to activate the code. It is automatically activated after they purchase a certain amount.

However for all fellow nters, I have submitted a post for them to expand this area, so that we can offer different kinds of discounts for our customers.

We are going to be expanding the functionality of discount codes in upcoming versions to be able to apply a dollar amount off the total (and now that I see it here, a minimum order amount for discounts isn't a bad idea either!)

We'll see when the developers can squeeze such a thing...

It would also be great if we could turn off discount codes based on price levels. I don't want to give discounts to wholesale customers, who already receive a hefty one!
