Is your home page a landing page? You shouldn't consider it one. Your ad entices people to click for more information, while your landing page closes the sale. It shouldn't invite people to surf your Web site. It's a stand-alone page that hides your main Web site navigation. It offers few or no options other than taking the intended action. And the copy should expand upon the message revealed in the advertisement visitors clicked on. Keep in mind that different ads require different landing pages; each landing page should be customized for a particular audience.

Some great info here on changing up descriptions and the page itself to increase sales.

Excellent article Clint...thanks.

Start with the following questions: What problems are you dealing with now? How do you want these resolved, and what are your concerns? What would make you buy this solution today? This is the making of a good entry page.

er...can I start with you and ask what prompted you to seek out different taillights for your Scion?

Note: This will be harder for us because our product doesn't offer a "solution" to a problem....it a luxury...not a need as is the case for many merchants.

I like to customize things to make them truly my own.

There are probably a lot of folks out there with different tails from the stocks, but they won't have my tails necessarily, or my combination of tails, lowering springs, lighting, etc.

That's pretty much it really. My stockers work fine, I just want something that stands out and helps me further customize my vehicle. happy.gif

You have to think as if it does. They NEED to be unique. They NEED to be different. They NEED to stand out from the rest.

For some people, want = need. So why would someone want a particular product? Translate that into a need.

I gotta agree with bookmark, Crash.

I sell kids toys to adults (and other products that create that kid-like "gotta have it" feeling in adults). There is absolutely no absolute "need" for my products. However, among other things, the "need" i'm aiming to fill is both "that is so cool, I have to have it" as well as "won't my friends be envious when they see I have this."

Forget the absolute "need." Address the "Why" they buy your products. Your "need" is probably a customer's passion to have a cool car/truck - be it to satisfy their vision or impress their friends (much the same as me!).

That is a good article. I read this website all the time, I particuraly like the one about shopping cart conversion.

This is a really effective way to look at it, since that's the way I, as your customer, feel.

We had talked about changing description words a while back and we were trying to think of words for your products, what about "custom" or "unique"? or "one-of-a-kind"? Heck maybe even try tuner terms like "red out" or soemthing. Ok, the second one might end up weird with all the hyphens, but you get the idea.

Performance mods (exhaust, intakes, etc.) pretty well sell themselves. Just post the horespower gains along with a manufacturer's dyno curve, and you're all set. Cosmetic things like your tailights, that's something you can really push like bookmark said.

Because, well, let's be honest. I do NEED those tails. happy.gif
