Hey all,

Just curious if anyone is using Stone Edge as a solution to streamlining inventory for both an internet and Brick & Mortar Store? I have heard that the POS side of their software is "not the best". Anyone have any input? The WHOLE reason we would purchase their software would be to control inventory, and we would have to incorporate their POS software to do this, since our brick & mortar and vitual stores share the same inventory.

I've heard they have plans to revamp the POS in the fall.

We use it, and don't like the POS at all - even our customers complain about it.

I also don't like the inventory reports. There's no date last sold, or date last received. The reports are run in SKU order, not title, which makes it difficult for us, since our products are tracked by title. When we do inventory it's not easy to find products on the list.

They say you can create custom reports, but I'm NOT a computer programmer. I'd like my software to come ready-to-use and not ready-to-be-fixed.

I don't know that there are any better options out there with better functionality that can integrate with monstersmile.gif, though. It may be your best option.

The Point of Sale system included with the Stone Edge Order Manager is definitely not one of the better POS systems available. However, it does have the distinct advantage of being able to keep inventory levels in synch with one or more Web stores. As Bookmark pointed out, we are planning a complete overhaul of our POS system for later this year. At that time it should be competitive with most similar systems. For custom reports, if you do not want to create them yourself (which requires a knowledge of Microsoft Access' report generator) we can create them for you for a small fee. In the meantime, the report you described sounds pretty useful. If you contact me off-line with the details of what you want, I will consider adding it as a new standard report.
