Ok, I know just enough HTML to be a little dangerous. I use front page with some degree of proficency and while not my first site, this is my first site i am really have some degree of control on and can make look professional.

I have pretty much read the manual, and am confused with a few things on 4.0. If I choose a template, can i make changes to the template such as

Instead of Manufucator have it say something else, such as Studio
Can I change the colors of the tabs
Can I add more tabs to the side just like the ones ther
Can I call the tabs there something else

Also, I know how to do quite afew link effects etc but Ia m weak on graphics...and not especially artistic (marketing major so sue me). I really like templates, etc and since I am in college I dont have time to learn a whole bunch of new sofware. I was wondering if any one has tried netstudio and what they think, or any suggestions on the best software to do things such as buttons, and format for my about us page etc.

I know this was a long post....but I so look forward to any advice, even a good book tongue.gif

Thanks all in advance

I am not sure what you mean by "tab," but I am guessing that you are talking about the Headers ("Search," Categories," "Join Mailing List," etc.).

You can change any of these. You just need a good graphics program. The manual tells you how to make your own header and button themes. They do have to be named based on monstersmile.gif specifications, but the file names you need to use are in the manual.

With 4.0 you can even make them any width you want. Us "old timers" were once stuck with using 180 pixel-width headers on the left side, 140-width on the right. We also had to walk 10 miles to school in blinding blizzard weather.

These days, you no longer have the constraints of 180/140.

As for Manuafacturer, you could assign in the manufacturer field of the product editor the name of a person/product's studio and then search by "Manufacturer." You would want to make a manufacturer header that says "Studio," of course.

We once played with the idea of using "Manufactuer" to let people search by Indonesian island -- Bali, Java, Sumatra, etc. Never got around to doing that, though.

Hope this helps.

Moshi-Moshi!! (Hello Hello)

I hope it's ok that I researched an old thread and I am adding to it? I didn't learn what I think I needed to but it is similar. If you prefer I start a new thread let me know.

My question (one of many to come) is this: grin.gif

When I click on a category then go to the product there is a field called "Sample Manufacturer".
I made an attempt to delete "sample manufacturer" but all of my products are tied to it so I can't until I make a new field.

I tried to make a new field (blank) so nothing would show up for now...but that wasn't acceptable either.

Listing the Manufacturers on the Product Page is not of use to me....how can I eliminate it?

Ok, I will let you all chew on this one before I ask my next question.

Thank you so much!!! thumbsup.gif

Howdy and welcome. You can hide Manufacturer in the -Site Information-Sitewide Settings-Product List & Details.

Good luck to you and ask away. I probably won't be able to answer most of your questions but someone always can.

Hi Everyone,

Today I was trying to use the forums Search bar to look up topics for some issues I am having and sometimes I get a red error message. I chose the option under Useful Links to email the forum administrator to get verified, etc... but the email was sent back??

The email link in the Useful Tools section states: Contact the forums administrator: When you click the link it opens your email for you already addressed to the sender: forums@monstercommerce.com

Is this email correct? It is the default email when you click the link? Is anyone else having this same problem?? Is the preferred method to place a ticket?

Thank you for your support. cool.gif

Hi Sheena,

I believe that your account just needs to be given merchant access to view all the threads. Once that is set you should not have a problem searching. If you can submit a ticket to MC tech support, we will be able to get your account setup. Just include your forum username in that ticket as well.

Thanks
